Running Tops

As we publish posts with reviews of various running gear, we will compile those reviews on this page!  Here’s what we’ve looked at so far:

Long Sleeve/Winter:

Visible? TTS? Comfy? Unstinkable? Overall
Athleta Taped Chi (2014) Reflective Taping in the seams Yes (Sandy size S, MB size XS, may need S for arms) Material is delicious!  Super soft and sleek, and there are thumbholes.  Attractive seaming Yep! Comes in great colors! Sandy did not like the neckline on this one (it’s got a bit of a scoop rather than a crew neck), but MB is a huge fan of the fabric and likes the neckline.
Athleta Fast Track Long Sleeve (2014) None Yes (Small fits Sandy), size up if you do not want a next to skin fit Yes, and it has great features, cute gathers at the waist, thumbholes, and hem grippers No The material is very thin, so it may not be the best option for a warm winter shirt
Athleta Embodiment Top (2014) None Yes (Small fits Sandy) Yes, nice thick material with thumbholes and hem grippers Yes A great addition to a winter running closet! A keeper for Sandy! (MB has a prior year’s version!)
Athleta Snowscape Crew (2014) None Yes (XS fit MB and Deborah, might size up for flexibility)  Material is soft, quilted, and warm.  A little space-age in look. No This could be a nice warm top layer for winter.  While the material is stretchy, there wasn’t much give at the arm seams, but that may be a sizing issue.  It’s a bit boxy.
